The mixer controls what is sent to the headphones.
There are five buttons along the right side of the mixer in a box titled HDPN. These buttons control what you hear over the headphones. If the PGM button is on, then you’re hearing what’s being broadcast. If the AUD button is on, then you’re hearing what’s being recorded (which may or may not be the same as what’s being broadcastâ€. Normally the PGM button is on.
The headphone output from the mixer board is sent to the headphone amp/distribution box (small black box to the right of the board) where several headphones can be plugged in and have their own individual volume controls.
To adjust the headphone volume on the mixer, use the light blue HDPN knob along the right side of the board. To adjust the individual headphone volumes on the amp/distribution box, use the individual sliders on the top of the box.
