TRANSFER FILES FROM A CD TO YOUR PROGRAM FOLDER

Special Notes:

This applies to Data CD's, not audio CD's.
Do not use this computer to â€œripâ€ songs from an audio CD (a pre-recorded music CD you bought from a store). If this must be done, please ask a tech committee member for advanced instructions
Do not use iTUNES without permission from the programming committee
Do not import music into the MegaSeg library, and do not add any music to the random play list.
A "data" CD is a CD with various individual files; .doc, .mpg, etc.. that you created on another computer. Typically these CD's cannot be played on a CD player although some of the newer players might. If you create a CD on your home computer containing a file you want to transfer onto the KLOI computer, use the Create Data CD option on your home computer â€“ as opposed to the Create Audio or Music CD option.

Open CD tray (press/hold the eject button on top right corner of keyboard)
Insert CD into tray on computer, located under the desk
Press/hold eject button down to suck the CD in
Watch for a new icon to show up on the desk top - that will be the folder for your CD
Double click on the new icon, this will bring up a Finder window for your CD
Navigate to the file you want to transfer
Open a 2nd finder window by double clicking the "Programs" folder along the right side of the desktop, navigate to your program folder
Drag your file from the finder window for your CD to your program folder in the 2nd finder window.
Press/hold the eject button to eject your CD.
Be sure to press/hold the eject button after removing your CD to close the tray on the computer.
