TRANSFERING FILES FROM A THUMB DRIVE OR COMPACT FLASH CARD TO YOUR PROGRAM FOLDER ON THE COMPUTER

Special Notes:

Please do not use iTUNES without permission from the programming committee. Using iTUNES can inadvertently add to the random play list â€“ which KLOI would like to avoid.
Do not import music into the MegaSeg library, and do not add any music to the random play list.

Procedure

First, push F11 to clear the desktop of any open windows.
Plug your thumb drive into the USB hub (small silver box with "Phillips USB 20" written on it located to the left of the rack on the desktop) or flash drive into the Lexar card reader (small blue box with Lexar written on it).
Watch for a new icon to show up on the desk top, thatâ€™ll be the folder for your thumb/flash drive
Double left click on the new icon, this will bring up a Finder window for your thumb/flash drive
Navigate to the file you want to transfer
Open a 2nd finder window by double clicking the "Programs" folder along the right side of the desktop, navigate to your program folder
Drag your file from the finder window for your thumb/flash drive to your program folder in the 2nd finder window. After a moment, a small â€œcopyingâ€ window will pop up and show the status. If youâ€™re transferring a large file, then it may take several minutes to copy.
When the copy is complete, the "copying" window will go away. Close the Finder window for your Program folder.
If youâ€™re using a KLOI Compact Flash card, DELETE the file from the compact flash card (drag the file into the trash). Keep the flash card lean for subsequent users.
Eject thumb drive by dragging the icon for your thumb drive into the trash.
Wait a moment, then remove your thumb drive or flash card.
