NOTE: If you create any folder for yourself – keep it in your program folder. Any unauthorized folder created/left on the desktop will be deleted during a weekly cleanup.
"Finder" is the file management/navigation application on the MAC.
The best way to initiate a Finder window is to double-click on the Finder icon on the dock along the left side of the screen. The icon is a square with a smiley face on it.
You can generate more than one Finder window if you need to. To open another Finder window; click on the existing Finder window to make it active, then go to the menu bar at the top of the screen, click on FILE and then New Finder Window.
Finder has various display modes. Note that the LIST view, selected with the small icon that looks like horizontal bars (see image below), will allow you to see the details of the file including when it was created and how big it is.
Although there are many shortcuts all over, the files are organized in a particular structure tree; everything is in the root folder called "Broadcast".
Every DJ and user should have a program folder set up in Program directory. If you don’t have one, then create one for yourself.
The ONLY place you should create a folder for yourself is within the Program folder. Do not create folders on the desktop, or remove them before you leave. They, and everything in them, will get erased in the weekly cleanup effort.
The path to the Program folder is; Broadcast/Music/MegaSeg/Program.
A quick way to get to the program folder is via the shortcut icon named "Programs" along the right side of the desktop. Or click on the Program folder name on the left side of the finder window.
For more details on using Finder, see Robin Williams’ book (Leopard OS 10.5). There’s a copy in the studio.
